Meet Attorney Wallace Berry

Attorney Wallace Berry has operated his own law practice since 2007 and been a licensed Georgia attorney since 1996.  His breadth of experience gained from working for several Metro Atlanta firms has given him a broad perspective of the practice of law  and enables him to better serve his clients.  While in law school, Mr. Berry worked part-time and also was a member and participant of the initial class for the John Marshall Law School Legal Aid Clinic, which provided representation for lower income folks in the areas of Landlord-Tenant law and Employment law.  He also gained valuable experience by working as a law clerk for one of his professors and had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of cases, such as caveats (challenges) to Wills in Probate Court, employment discrimination and ADA claims (Americans with Disabilities Act), business litigation, complex civil litigation, Receiverships, Corporate litigation, School and Education litigation, and many others.

After law school, Mr. Berry worked for a mid-size firm on a large number of Personal Injury/Car Wreck/Slip and Fall cases, as well as business litigation, family law, and other civil practice and litigation.  He also spent almost eight years performing residential real estate closings and foreclosures, and was a Managing Attorney at two large Atlanta law firms.  But, realizing his calling was to help the average person with resolution of their “real-life” problems, Mr. Berry decided to open his own law practice in 2007.  Since that time, he has focused his practice on Criminal Defense, Civil Practice, Litigation and Trials.  However, Mr. Berry continues to handle a wide variety of cases, such as Traffic Tickets, DUI, Misdemeanors, Felonies, Juvenile Law, Small Claims, Personal Injury/Car Wrecks/Slip and Fall, Wrongful Death, Corporations and LLCs, Contracts, Family Law and others.

Mr. Berry enjoys helping his clients with their legal issues and strives to obtain the best possible resolution for each of his clients, whatever their legal issue may be.  And, while the deadlines and time-crunch of a law practice can often be stressful, he appreciates the fact that no two days are alike.  One day he may be in court representing a client and the next day he may be meeting with a client who was injured in a car wreck, and the next he may be handling a deposition in  a civil case.  Some days, he meets with a client at the jail, drafts a Settlement Agreement for a civil case, speaks with opposing attorneys as they attempt to resolve different types of cases, and meets with prosecutors in plea negotiations on criminal charges.  The practice of law is not an easy road to walk, but it is a fascinating journey along the way, and a great way to help people with their “real-life” problems.

Attorney Wallace Berry also believes in giving back to the community.  That is why he has been involved in volunteer work in a variety of ways over the years.  He has been a Head Football Coach in the Gwinnett Football League, a Head Basketball Coach in the Lawrenceville Youth Association, is currently a Board Member and Teacher for STRAP (a program that helps at-risk teenagers), an evaluator for the Gwinnett County Mock Trial competition for high school students, a pro bono lawyer with Gwinnett Legal Aid, and he financially supports many causes each year such as Toys for Tots and others.

Mr. Berry enjoys being a lawyer and enjoys helping his clients.  He is thankful for all the support his many clients have shown him over the years and appreciates the referrals he regularly receives from current and former clients as well as lawyers.
